Today held an experiment; Use the three markers pulled randomly from the bag.
I pulled sky blue, green, and lavender. I was so hoping for something different, but I stuck with the decision. It was sort of a "really?" moment. I've also had this sentiment floating around for quite some time now, so I used it, too. Of course there could have been other ways to use the three colors, but I stuck with the light spring flower theme.
I created a soft watercolor background and then created the lettering, grass and flower stems. Next, I used the colored pencils to add some dimension to the grass and sky. I drew the heads on the flowers, but realized the lavender needed company, and I added the orange pen and pencil markings. This type of drawing makes me feel like a kid while completing it because of the simple sun and sky combination.
Although I am pleased with this one, I could see future designs for the same sentiment. I have been trying to pull the one out from my mind's eye and that might take some time. It's a good start. And it will probably be "I picked you" rather than "chose". Just thinking the picking goes better with flowers. We'll see.
On a separate note, my donation for Think Pink Memphis has been framed by a dear friend and is ready for the show tomorrow. I hope it brings in some money for this great cause! I am thankful for those who care so much and support Breast Cancer Research. I hope to donate again in the future.
On another note, it was fun to watch all of the January posts shrink up when I posted the picture for today. I love seeing the (31) indicator! On, February!
